Mental Health Clinician
Elizabeth Burgos was born in the Dominican Republic and immigrated to Jersey City, New Jersey at the age of 3. She is bilingual (Spanish and English) and bicultural.
She graduated in 1997 with Bachelors in Social Work (BSW) from Kean University of New Jersey. Elizabeth worked as an alcohol and drug counselor certified in New York State from 1997-2001.In 2010, she received her Masters of Clinical Social Work (MSW) from the University of Thomas and St. Catherine University.
She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Supervisor with experience working with the Latino/a community and diverse populations including individuals with dual-diagnosis in outpatient and residential settings since 2007. Elizabeth has a passion for education and teaching.
She has worked as a community faculty/Professor at Metro State University since 2015. Her treatment areas of expertise are: Addiction & Recovery, Anxiety, Depression, Abuse/ Assault/ Trauma, Grief/Loss/Bereavement, LGBTQIA+ issues, Relationship issues, Stress Management, Coping Skills, & Codependency. She works with adults and youth ages 9 and up.
